Peer Coaches are compassionate individuals who have personal experience with various life events, including substance use disorder, mental health struggles, suicide ideation, disordered eating, and self-harm. They have received specialized training to offer support, and empowerment, using a strength-based methodology while bringing a unique perspective and empathy to their clients. Peer Coaches provide hope, practical assistance, and encouragement to individuals during the most challenging times in their lives, by helping them access resources and services and build a support network. My role is to empower and guide you on this journey by sharing my own lived experiences and being a source of inspiration.
Peer coaching is a collaborative process in which a coach helps an individual identify and achieve their personal goals. The coach works with the client to create a customized plan of action, using a strength-based methodology, while providing support, empowerment, tools, and guidance throughout the process.
The duration of a Peer Coaching program varies according to the individual's objectives. If you require Resource Navigation services, the length of the program will depend on your needs and can last up to three sessions. Some people prefer to meet with a Peer Coach once a month for a year, while others may opt for the 12-week program where they meet once per week. The latter program offers the best outcome for clients, as it helps them achieve their goals, establish support systems, and feel confident in moving forward.
